Ian is a former Royal Navy Commander who has accumulated a valuable range of competencies over a consistently high performing career, which transfer readily into wider public sector, private business and not for profit organisations.

As a chartered engineer and systems thinker he ‘joins the dots’ quickly, bringing an insightful, holistic approach across people, process, organisation, technology and information. Consequently he has a track record of identifying breakthrough approaches to complex and stubborn challenges. Ian is politically and financially astute (ACCA qualified) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. At the leadership and executive levels, Ian accords the highest priority to collective, rather than individual, performance.

Ian’s career to date has been shaped significantly through his Royal Navy experience – diverse roles encompassing corporate and programme management, maritime operations, systems engineering management, communications and training delivery. More recently he has successfully designed, sold and delivered consultancy projects that have provided clients with fresh insights and knowledge for their organisational ambitions. Ian has a particular passion for supporting the growth, change and innovation goals of medium and smaller sized companies, higher education establishments and public sector bodies.
