Passionate about culture & behaviours
Libby describes herself as a Behaviour Scientist, focused on delivering evidence-based insights to advise decision makers on delivering change. She’s applied this approach to a range of contexts – from advising on military operational planning, to assessing cyber security risks to improving the human factors of operators and analysts.
Libby’s effervescence oozes into all her planning and execution in supporting research and innovation in audience analysis, social media monitoring, online influence and cyber security. Throughout her career Libby has ably facilitated workshops and focus groups, creating an open environment for idea and opinion sharing, summarising the content as they progress and deliver succinct outputs to inform next steps.
In this last year alone, Libby has delivered: pan defence workshops on audience analysis terminology (including tri-service representation); run workshops developing skill standards for MoD competencies and has facilitated employee engagement sessions for senior civil servants.
Complementing her experience as a facilitator, Libby is technically trained in human factors (Psychology), so will be familiar with the concepts and content of this task. While she latterly focused on the human factors of cyber security (as the MoD’s Human factors manager Cyber Vulnerability Investigation 2016-2018, before being Airbus’s Human Factors director in their cyber security department in 2018-2020), during her time conducting research for Dstl, she led research on a range of topics, examples include: the cyber security of RAF fighter pilots, the human factors of airport security procedures, the cognitive burden on dismounted close combat soldiers and synthetic training solutions for Warrior drivers.
